Retreats with me offer a sacred space to step away from everyday distractions, recharge your creativity, and deepen your writing practice—all while connecting with other women on the same journey. These intimate events include guided writing time, shared meals, wellness activities, and more.

I designed More to the Story retreat as a sacred space where you can step away from the noise of everyday life and fully immerse yourself in your writing and your wellbeing.
When you join me, you’ll experience:

Group connection and coaching — Intimate gatherings with like-hearted women, including group discussions, guided coaching, and shared inspiration.
Nourishing meals and downtime — Healthy, delicious food to fuel your body, with time to rest, reflect, and explore at your own pace.
Creative and wellness activities — Optional yoga, meditation, gentle movement, and rituals that nurture your creativity and renew your energy.

Each retreat is thoughtfully crafted to support you on your voice-driven nonfiction journey, balancing productivity with restoration and community with solitude.
FAQ
Your enrollment includes lodging for all nights, and most meals. Breakfast and lunch will be self-served on your own, and dinners will be shared together as a group. Always to-be-determined is one or two dinners out, which are not included. At least one wellness activity will be included (also TBD, depending on the season and availability). Other wellness activities may be available for an add-on cost. (Payment plans available.)
The retreat schedule will be determined and shared in advance of your arrival. It always changes, depending on number of people, preferences, and planned activities. But we keep the schedule pretty light and fluid. Most of the time is unscheduled so that you can work on your own writing or book project, and I’m always around and available for impromptu coaching, brainstorming, and idea shaping. We usually start the day with some breathing and a check-in on what you want to accomplish for the day. One or two days will have a wellness activity, likely in the morning to start the day, or in the afternoon as a way to ground and unwind after a long day of focused attention.
Janna has dietary restrictions herself, and is familiar with accommodating special needs. Most meals will have vegetarian, gluten-, and dairy-free options. When eating out, we will also take care to select restaurants with many options to accommodate any dietary needs.
Your enrollment includes transport to and from the airport, and around town for any planned activities. You are welcome to rent a car if you feel like you would like more independence, otherwise Lyft and Uber rides are always readily available.
